Parish letter – 30th April 2020

30th April 2020

Dear Friends,

I take this opportunity to write to you to check that you are ok.  I know that this lockdown has been difficult for many, but I hope the regular emails or door drops have been helpful along with the team phoning you.

Many of you have let us know how much you have appreciated our contact with you along with our Sunday services.

Regarding Sundays, we have returned to the 2 services: a 9.30 and a 10.30

If you would like to join in with our 9.30am ‘live’ service

Please have your copy of the Simple Morning Prayer Service ready so you can join in with the responses. You can download the service sheet here Please note you will be able to talk to everyone for the first 5 minutes of the service. Everyone will then be muted so that the service leader can lead worship.

The 10.30 is pre-recorded and can be followed on Facebook or the website.  You may like to know that on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the team meets on zoom at 9am for morning prayer, which you are all welcome to join, just use the same log- in as for Sundays.

If you are in need of anything, please contact us and we will be very happy to help.

Many of you will know Barbara Hunt died a couple of weeks ago. In this time of restrictions on public gatherings, Barbara’s funeral will be in 2 parts. On Tuesday 12th May at 2pm we have a cremation service at St Faiths, which I think will be live streamed.  But for most of us, when we can, we will have a memorial service together with the burial of her ashes at St Mary and St Margaret’s.

I would like to thank all of you who have been able to continue your giving to the Church and encourage again any of you who can to start paying by standing order.  If you need help with this, please speak to Robert Huntly or any of the team.

Please be assured of our prayers for you all, and if you have any particular prayer requests please let us know. With love and prayers from the team.

Simon Stokes – Vicar
